Job Description
**Job title** Engineering Intern – Scotia Place Arena Construction **Role Summary** A 16‑month internship (starting May 2026) for a third‑year engineering student. The intern will work on the Scotia Place Arena project, providing support in all aspects of large‑scale commercial construction and gaining practical experience in project delivery, cost control, and stakeholder coordination. **Expectations** * Complete the internship within the 16‑month term and demonstrate progress in core engineering competencies. * Deliver high‑quality documentation and support project milestones. * Exhibit professionalism, reliability, and teamwork. * Position for a potential full‑time engineering role post‑graduation. **Key Responsibilities** 1. Assist in project scheduling, cost estimating, and budget preparation. 2. Support job cost control and risk‑management activities. 3. Contribute to safety management plans and quality‑control inspections. 4. Compile and organize project documentation (drawings, reports, RFIs). 5. Facilitate communication among clients, consultants, and subcontractors. 6. Participate in business‑development meetings and client liaison activities. 7. Collaborate with project managers and senior engineers to ensure project objectives are met on time and within budget. **Required Skills** * Strong verbal and written communication. * Excellent documentation and organizational skills. * Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). * Ability to work independently and as part of a team under tight deadlines. * Dependable, detail‑oriented, and proactive attitude. * Basic understanding of construction project life cycle. **Required Education & Certifications** * Current third‑year engineering student (any discipline). * No specific certifications required; acceptance of industry standard safety and quality registers is a plus.
