Job Title: PLC, HMI, and SCADA Programmer
Role Summary:
Lead electrical and controls engineering for product offerings, design and program PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems, and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver reliable automation solutions for MBR projects.
Expectations:
- Deliver control systems that meet internal standards and regulatory requirements.
- Enhance design efficiency and reduce cost through adoption of new technologies.
- Participate in commissioning, site visits, and technical support activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop conceptual and detailed control designs: documentation, PLC/HMI programs, controller selection, schematics, BOMs, system architecture.
- Design and specify motor control centers and drive systems.
- Provide complete controls documentation for MBR projects to company standards.
- Audit programming and conduct factory acceptance tests.
- Coordinate with Sales, Application Engineering, Project Engineering, Field Service, and Aftermarket Sales to define scope, schedules, and product requirements.
- Review specifications at or before bid to enable sales success.
- Perform site visits, commissioning services, analyze field data, and provide technical support to engineering, purchasing, fabrication, quality, and field teams.
- Develop and implement remote data collection and processing for warranty compliance and plant optimization.
- Verify OEM partner and EPC project work, lead or participate in special projects.
Required Skills:
- 3+ years of controls design and programming experience.
- Proficient in programming Allen Bradley and Siemens process control systems.
- Proficient in SCADA system programming and integration.
- Ability to produce control documentation: narratives, sequence charts, cause‑effect charts, alarms, operating sequence charts.
- Understanding of plant integration and controls, preferably in water and wastewater treatment.
- Strong teamwork and coordination skills with internal/external contractors, customers, suppliers, and vendors.
- Fluent in English (written & verbal).
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Controls, or related engineering discipline (or equivalent).
- Canadian passport (mandatory).
Physical & Working Conditions:
- Office environment.
- Willingness to travel internationally and locally up to 10‑15%.
