Job Description
**Job Title** Legal Counsel – Autonomous Systems **Role Summary** Provide strategic legal guidance within an autonomous technology organization, overseeing contract drafting, compliance, emerging regulatory issues, and global talent support. Collaborate with engineering, product, HR, and leadership to balance risk, innovation, and operational efficiency. **Expectations** - Deliver concise, actionable legal advice in a fast‑paced environment. - Influence business decisions through clear, collaborative communication. - Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of AI, robotics, and autonomous systems regulations. - Adapt priorities swiftly while managing multiple high‑impact projects. **Key Responsibilities** 1. Draft, review, and negotiate technology contracts (NDAs, vendor/supply, IP licenses, employment agreements). 2. Design and improve contract workflow and tracking systems. 3. Provide proactive counsel on regulatory compliance, data privacy, cybersecurity, and product liability for AI‑driven autonomous systems. 4. Conduct legal research and develop guidance on novel legal challenges. 5. Partner with HR on immigration compliance and global mobility initiatives. 6. Advise on employment law matters, severance, and workforce policies. **Required Skills** - Strong corporate law and technology agreement expertise. - Analytical judgment with a forward‑thinking mindset. - Effective cross‑functional collaboration and influence. - Clear, concise written and verbal communication. - Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment. - Negotiation proficiency. **Required Education & Certifications** - Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. - Active bar license, in good standing. - 2–5 years of in‑house corporate counsel experience, ideally in technology, software, hardware, or highly regulated industries. **Preferred (not required)** - Exposure to robotics, AI, autonomous systems, or automotive law. - Experience with data privacy, cybersecurity, or global mobility programs. - History of negotiating complex technology or IP agreements. - Ability to work closely with engineering and product teams.
