Job Description
Job Title: Fire & Security / Operations Manager Role Summary: Lead and optimise day‑to‑day fire and security operations across multiple disciplines, ensuring high quality service delivery, profitability, and client satisfaction while driving strategic growth and continuous improvement. Expectations: - Deliver operational excellence across all fire safety and electronic security services. - Manage P&L, budgeting, forecasting, and cost efficiency. - Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships. - Lead, develop and mentor staff to high performance standards. - Champion health & safety and third‑party accreditation compliance. Key Responsibilities: - Oversee daily operations, ensuring timely, high‑quality delivery of fire risk assessments, alarm system design, installation, commissioning, emergency lighting, portable extinguisher maintenance, CCTV, access control, and intruder alarms. - Own operational budgets, P&L performance, and contract profitability; drive cost control and accurate forecasting. - Nurture client relationships to secure repeat business; support sales as needed. - Manage and mentor operational teams, department leads, and subcontractors; conduct performance reviews, training, and development. - Forecast labour resources, optimise deployment, and maximise productivity across active contracts. - Propose and implement process improvements, operational systems, and departmental growth strategies. - Ensure accurate invoicing, record keeping, and compliance with contractual requirements. Required Skills: - Proven operations management experience in the fire and security industry. - Strong commercial and financial acumen – budgeting, forecasting, contract profitability. - Leadership, coaching, and team development abilities. - Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills. - Proactive problem‑solving, continuous improvement mindset. - Knowledge of health & safety standards and third‑party accreditation frameworks. - Ability to drive change at departmental level. Required Education & Certifications: - Full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK. - Relevant industry accreditations preferred: BAFE SP205, SP203‑1, SP203‑4, SP101; NSI Gold – Fire; NACOSS Gold – Electronic Security; NAPIT – Electrical.
