Job Description
**Job Title:** Embedded Software Validation Engineer (SOC Validation) **Role Summary:** Validate and bring‑up new system‑on‑chip (SoC) platforms built around high‑performance ARM cores. Develop and execute low‑level software tests, debug hardware interfaces, and ensure functional correctness of memory, I/O, and interconnect subsystems using both emulation and silicon prototypes. **Expectations:** - Deliver comprehensive functional validation of SoC features on schedule. - Produce reliable, repeatable test suites and documentation. - Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and ASIC teams to resolve issues quickly. - Maintain and improve validation infrastructure and methodologies. **Key Responsibilities:** - Perform functional validation of new ARM‑based SoCs. - Execute bring‑up of critical interfaces: LPDDR, Ethernet, PCIe, HBM, CPUs, UART, I²C, I³C, SPI, and coherent mesh. - Develop bare‑metal C test code and scripts for hardware verification. - Utilize FPGA HAPS/Zebu emulation platforms for pre‑silicon testing and transition to silicon target boards. - Debug hardware/software interactions, log defects, and track resolution. - Create and maintain validation plans, test reports, and coverage metrics. **Required Skills:** - Strong proficiency in C programming for bare‑metal environments. - Hands‑on experience with ARM Cortex‑A/R/M processors and SoC bring‑up. - Familiarity with memory interfaces (LPDDR, HBM) and high‑speed I/O (PCIe, Ethernet). - Experience using FPGA‑based emulation platforms (e.g., HAPS, Zebu) and silicon prototype boards. - Solid understanding of low‑level debugging tools (JTAG, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes). - Ability to write clear test documentation and communicate findings across teams. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field (Master’s preferred). - Relevant certifications (e.g., ARM Accredited Engineer) are a plus but not mandatory.
