Job Description
**Job Title:** Principal Appian Consultant **Role Summary:** Lead and mentor implementation teams on complex Appian and related technology projects for federal clients, guiding architecture design, Agile delivery, QA, DevSecOps, and scalability. Serve as a trusted advisor, driving technical excellence, process improvement, and knowledge sharing across multiple projects. **Expectations:** - Minimum 5 years of Appian implementation experience and 5 years of IT experience. - U.S. citizenship with current or clearable security clearance. - Active Appian Lead Certification. - Proven Agile delivery and strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills. **Key Responsibilities:** - Lead multi‑pod teams on large‑scale Appian implementations. - Guide clients on Agile practices, QA, governance, and architecture design. - Design, develop, test, and optimize Appian solutions for performance and scalability. - Oversee configuration management, DevSecOps, and platform integration. - Author implementation best‑practice documentation and internal knowledge base articles. - Provide thought leadership on process and tool improvements. - Mentor and train delivery resources. - Support internal tooling, infrastructure, and service‑delivery initiatives. **Required Skills:** - Deep expertise in Appian platform development, deployment, and customization. - Agile methodology implementation (Scrum, Kanban). - Strong technical design, problem‑solving, and system integration skills. - Proficiency with RDBMS (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL/MariaDB). - Experience with web services, REST/SOAP, and middleware (Mule, IIB, Fusion). - Familiarity with UI/UX design principles, cloud IaaS (AWS, Azure, GCP), and authentication standards (SAML, OAuth, LDAP). - Knowledge of DevSecOps, configuration management, data management, BI, and optional exposure to ML/AI. - Excellent verbal and written communication; active listening; stakeholder engagement. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Systems Engineering, or related field. - Active Appian Lead Certification. - U.S. citizenship; current or clearable security clearance.
