Job Description

**Job Title:** IT Support Technician **Role Summary:** Serve as the first point of contact for customers, handling inbound support calls and remotely diagnosing and resolving IT issues. Provide timely updates throughout the incident lifecycle while delivering high‑quality customer service. **Expectations:** - Demonstrate strong enthusiasm for IT and a commitment to continuous learning. - Resolve incidents independently using problem‑solving skills and remote support tools. - Maintain clear communication with customers and internal teams. - Pass a standard DBS check. **Key Responsibilities:** - Answer and log incoming support calls and tickets. - Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, and network problems remotely. - Escalate complex issues to senior technical staff when necessary. - Document solutions and update knowledge base articles. - Communicate incident status and resolution steps to customers. - Participate in ongoing training and skill development. **Required Skills:** - Strong customer service orientation. - Basic knowledge of Windows, Office 365, and common business applications. - Ability to use remote support tools (e.g., TeamViewer, Remote Desktop). - Effective verbal and written communication. - Problem‑solving and analytical thinking. - Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Minimum GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics, or comparable qualifications. - Relevant IT certification (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Fundamentals) preferred but not mandatory. - Clear DBS clearance.
