Job Description
Job Title: Construction Intern – Summer 2026 Role Summary A 12‑week paid internship that delivers hands‑on exposure to construction management across multiple functions. Interns support field execution, estimating, scheduling, bid and submittal preparation, project close‑out, budgeting, safety enforcement, and project meetings, while interacting with field staff, design professionals, and management teams. Expectations - Commit to approximately 40 hours per week during the internship term. - Work on-site daily, aligning schedule with academic requirements. - Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and a willingness to learn. - Contribute to project milestones and uphold safety and quality standards. Key Responsibilities - Assist with field execution support for ongoing construction projects. - Support estimating, scheduling, bid package development, RFIs, and submittal coordination. - Observe and, where appropriate, supervise on‑site construction activities. - Aid in project close‑out tasks and documentation. - Track and forecast project budgets, providing updates to management. - Enforce safety protocols and assist with safety documentation. - Organize and attend project meetings; prepare meeting minutes. - Interact with design professionals and construction management teams. - Perform any additional duties related to project support. Required Skills - Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). - Demonstrated leadership and initiative in academic or extracurricular settings. - Strong resourcefulness, problem‑solving, and proactive communication. - Excellent organization, multitasking, and prioritization under tight deadlines. - Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to changing priorities. Required Education & Certifications - Current enrollment in an accredited bachelor’s program in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field. - Within the first two years of graduation (rising junior or senior). - No additional certifications required.
