Job Description
**Job Title:** Project Intern **Role Summary:** Assist the project management and construction teams at BIG Construction throughout the pre‑construction, bidding, and construction phases. Manage procurement matrices, submittals, RFIs, and documentation control while representing the company in owner‑architect meetings. Support project execution and closeout processes, ensuring quality and client satisfaction. **Expectations:** - Actively participate in all project phases with a focus on documentation and procurement. - Maintain professional relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders. - Demonstrate initiative, self‑motivation, and the ability to work independently or collaboratively. **Key Responsibilities:** - Process, distribute, track, and update all project documentation using designated software. - Conduct take‑offs with On‑Screen, produce rough estimates per project executive directives. - Reach out to potential bidders, assemble bid binders, and log contractor bidding documents. - File shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, schedules, and punch lists into the correct job folders. - Communicate procurement requirements to the Project Engineer and develop submittal logs. - Review contract documents for submittal requirements; prepare RFIs. - Attend site meetings and facilitate the close‑out process. - Ensure client satisfaction by identifying and exceeding client needs under guidance. **Required Skills:** - Ability to read and interpret construction drawings. - Strong written and verbal communication; capability to build relationships. - Application of innovative management techniques to optimize performance. - Understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, and standards. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with On‑Screen Take‑off, Adobe PDF/Bluebeam, PlanGrid, CMiC preferred. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s program (or higher) in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field. ---
