Job Description
**Job Title** Clinical Fellow – Anaesthetics & Critical Care (Simulation / Peri‑Operative Medicine) **Role Summary** A 12‑month CT3 clinical fellowship supporting the Anaesthesia and Critical Care department. The Fellow will provide anaesthetic care across the peri‑operative and ICU settings, including obstetric anaesthesia where competent, and will develop and deliver simulation‑based training. The role offers advanced clinical exposure and CV‑building experiences for trainees completing Core Training. **Expectations** - 2 + years post‑graduate anaesthesia experience. - Competency in general anaesthesia; obstetric anaesthesia (IAOC) desirable but not mandatory. - Commitment to continuous professional development, quality improvement, and patient safety. - Ability to work autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team. - Will be supervised by an educational supervisor and supported in CV development. **Key Responsibilities** 1. Deliver safe and effective anaesthetic care in operating theatres, obstetric theatres and ICUs. 2. Assist in obstetric anaesthesia procedures, meeting IAOC standards. 3. Provide anaesthetic support for critical care admissions and transfers. 4. Active participation in simulation sessions – design, implementation and debriefing. 5. Maintain accurate clinical documentation, audit records and comply with governance standards. 6. Contribute to clinical teaching, case conferences and peer‑learning activities. 7. Engage in audit, research and service improvement initiatives. **Required Skills** - Clinical anaesthesia, peri‑operative medicine, and basic ICU skills. - Proficiency in airway management, haemodynamic monitoring, and multimodal analgesia. - Strong communication, teamwork and leadership in multidisciplinary settings. - Competence in simulation facilitation and debriefing. - Commitment to evidence‑based practice and adherence to national guidelines. - Excellent documentation and time‑management abilities. **Required Education & Certifications** - Medical degree (MBBS/MD). - Completion of Core Training (CT1‑CT2) with at least two years of post‑graduate anaesthesia experience. - Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or equivalent. - IAOC (Initial Assessment of Obstetric Competency) preferred. - Current clinical licence/registration with relevant health authority. ---
