Job Title: Senior Security Engineer
Role Summary:
Senior Security Engineer strengthens the organization’s cybersecurity program by enhancing risk management and incident response capabilities. Responsibilities span policy maintenance, risk assessments, vulnerability management, threat analysis, and incident response coordination, with a focus on both technical security engineering and governance, risk, and compliance (GRC).
Expectations:
- Lead security initiatives across all organizational levels.
- Maintain composure under tight deadlines and high-pressure incidents.
- Communicate effectively in written, verbal, and presentation formats.
- Adapt to dynamic environments and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement, execute, and continuously improve the Information Security Program.
- Maintain and update security policies, procedures, and standards.
- Conduct periodic risk analyses and third‑party risk assessments.
- Coordinate application security reviews and manage vulnerability & incident response activities.
- Evaluate, select, and support security tools and technologies.
- Troubleshoot and remediate security issues in complex, matrixed environments.
- Develop and present reports, dashboards, and formal documentation.
- Plan and facilitate tabletop exercises; identify and remediate identified gaps.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Required Skills:
- Expertise in security and compliance frameworks (HIPAA, HITECH, PCI, NIST).
- Hands‑on experience securing information systems, networks, and cloud environments.
- Knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux, Unix) and application/database security concepts.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Visio, SharePoint; ability to produce clear documentation.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and leadership skills.
- Excellent verbal, written, and listening communication.
- Ability to manage high‑pressure situations with key stakeholders.
- Proficiency in preparing dashboards, reports, and formal documentation.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
- One or more industry security certifications: CEH, CISSP, GCIH, GSEC, or equivalent.
- 2–3 years of leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
