Job Description
Job title: DevOps Engineer Role Summary: Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code for Azure-based data platforms, focusing on Azure Databricks notebooks and PySpark jobs. Coordinate with data engineering and platform teams to ensure seamless deployment across development, staging, and production environments. Expactations: - Deliver reliable, automated data pipelines and job execution workflows within Microsoft Azure. - Maintain secure storage of secrets and configurations using Azure Key Vault and DevOps variable groups. - Apply DevOps best practices to data analytics environments, ensuring version control, testing, and promotion standards. Key Responsibilities: - Build and maintain Azure DevOps pipelines to deploy Databricks notebooks and jobs. - Integrate Databricks Repos with Azure Repos (Git) for source control of PySpark/R notebooks. - Automate Databricks job runs via CLI, REST API, or DevOps tasks. - Use Terraform for infrastructure-as-code management. - Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve pipeline failures, notebook errors, and deployment issues. - Collaborate with Data Engineers and Platform teams on environment setup and maintenance. - Implement version control, testing, and promotion workflows across multiple environments. - Securely store and manage secrets, tokens, and configuration data in Azure Key Vault and DevOps variable groups. Required Skills: - Strong experience with Azure DevOps, Azure Pipelines, and Azure Databricks. - Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, Bash). - Familiarity with Terraform or similar IaC tools. - Experience with Git-based source control and API automation. - Knowledge of DevOps practices in data platform contexts. - Ability to troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines and data pipeline issues. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent. - Minimum 3 years of DevOps engineering experience with a focus on Microsoft Azure. - Certifications such as Microsoft Azure DevOps Engineer Expert or Azure Data Engineer Associate are advantageous.
