Job Description
Job Title: Data Engineer Role Summary Design, develop, and maintain data solutions that enable the company’s all‑in‑one platform to scale and deliver real‑time insights. Focus on robust SQL-based architectures and Microsoft Azure services to ingest, transform, and store massive volumes of structured and semi‑structured data. Expectations Deliver high‑quality data pipelines that support analytics, reporting, and product features. Ensure performance, reliability, and scalability of data services. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions. Continuously improve data quality, governance, and security. Key Responsibilities - Build and maintain data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure Data Lake. - Write efficient, maintainable SQL for data transformation, aggregation, and reporting. - Design and implement data models for operational and analytical workloads. - Monitor pipeline health, troubleshoot failures, and apply performance tuning. - Enforce data security, privacy, and compliance policies across the data platform. - Work with data scientists and product owners to provision datasets for analytics and ML pipelines. - Document architecture, processes, and best practices. - Assess new data technologies and recommend adoption where beneficial. Required Skills - Strong SQL proficiency across relational databases (SQL Server, Azure SQL). - Hands‑on experience with Azure services: Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Data Lake, Data Bricks, and Azure Functions. - ETL/ELT pipeline development and automation. - Data modeling, schema design, and performance optimization. - Programming in Python, Scala, or PowerShell for scripting and automation. - Familiarity with data governance, metadata management, and security controls. - Problem‑solving mindset and ability to work independently and in teams. - Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills. Required Education & Certifications - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent practical experience). - Minimum 3 years of professional data engineering or related data‑centric role. - Microsoft Azure Data Engineer Associate or equivalent certification highly desirable. ---
