Job Description
**Job Title:** Director of Security **Role Summary:** Oversees security operations, systems, and resources to ensure safety and compliance across a complex healthcare organization. Provides strategic leadership for security programs, coordinates with law enforcement, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to mitigate risks and enhance operational resilience. **Expectations:** Requires a strategic leader with deep expertise in security management, law enforcement operations, and emergency response. Must hold a Master’s degree or equivalent and 7+ years managing large security teams. Demonstrated knowledge of access control systems, IP surveillance, and regulatory compliance is essential. **Key Responsibilities:** - Direct security operations, training, and resource allocation for contracted personnel and internal teams. - Evaluate and implement access control, camera systems, and technology solutions to maximize security. - Serve as a critical member of Emergency Response/Incident Command teams and coordinate with law enforcement, Risk Management, and Facilities. - Develop and optimize security protocols, lifecycle strategies, and alarm-source investigation processes. - Train staff on security systems, maintain surveillance operations, and preserve evidence for investigations. - Ensure compliance with federal/state laws, regulations, and organizational policies. **Required Skills:** - Advanced knowledge of security systems (access control, IP video surveillance). - Strong leadership and program management capabilities. - Proficiency in strategic risk assessment and incident command. - Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills across diverse audiences. - Understanding of Texas and federal legal frameworks, regulatory agencies, and network concepts (OS/Windows). **Required Education & Certifications:** - Master’s degree (M.A.) or equivalent. - 7+ years in senior security/law enforcement leadership roles. - Valid Texas Driver’s License and eligibility for Center Certified Driver. - Maintained TCOLE (Texas Commission on Law Enforcement) license. - Basic network knowledge with advanced OS/Windows familiarity.
