Job Description
**Job Title:** IT Security Engineer **Role Summary:** Responsible for protecting sensitive healthcare data by maintaining HITRUST and HIPAA compliance, designing and optimizing SIEM/SOAR solutions, and collaborating with IT, development, and compliance teams to uphold a secure, compliant infrastructure. **Expectations:** - Ensure all security controls meet HITRUST CSF and HIPAA Security Rule requirements. - Contribute to strategic direction and continuous improvement of security operations platforms. - Effectively communicate security status and risks to technical and non‑technical stakeholders, including senior leadership. **Key Responsibilities:** - Review, update, and enforce security policies, procedures, and standards. - Prepare for and participate in formal security audits. - Design and maintain SIEM/SOAR playbooks, evidence collection, and alerting workflows. - Identify recurring security issues and engineer automated solutions. - Work with cross‑functional teams to integrate security into infrastructure development and operations. **Required Skills:** - Minimum 3 years of IT compliance/security experience with HITRUST CSF and HIPAA knowledge. - Proficient in security administration for on‑premises and cloud (GCP or AWS). - Hands‑on SIEM and SOAR platform expertise. - Familiarity with firewalls, endpoint security, and other security solution tools. - Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of explaining technical risks to non‑technical audiences. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Security, Information Technology, or a related field. - Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or equivalent are preferred.
