Job Description
**Job Title:** Quality Assurance (QA) Technician – Night Shift **Role Summary:** Oversee food safety and quality during manufacturing and packaging shifts, ensuring adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and all product specifications. Monitor production processes, document compliance, initiate holds, and communicate issues to the FSQ team and supervisors. **Expectations:** - Strict compliance with GMP and HACCP requirements. - Accurate, timely recording of all product and process data. - Prompt reporting of food safety and quality incidents. - Flexibility to work night shifts and weekends as required. **Key Responsibilities:** - Monitor ingredient lot codes, process verifications, and product parameters (weight, packaging, sensory data, identity preservation). - Initiate and release product/equipment holds for non-conformances or pending microbiological analysis. - Record product data in the Product Grading Spreadsheet; notify FSQ team of out-of-spec products. - Inspect plant areas daily for equipment, storage, sanitation, maintenance, and GMP compliance; resolve issues promptly. - Verify HACCP pre-requisite program compliance and daily records (pre-ops, oven logs, allergen cleaning forms, sanitizer dilution). - Perform daily or weekly calibration checks for scales and thermometers; record on calibration sheets. - Conduct monthly metal detector validation. - Monitor pest control traps, log sightings, and submit reports. - Submit FSQ-related maintenance work orders. - Provide daily FSQ summary to supervisor and manager via emailed report. **Required Skills:** - In-depth knowledge of GMP and food safety principles. - Intermediate to advanced computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). - Ability to read and interpret production and HACCP documentation. - Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem‑solving. - Excellent written and verbal communication. - Multilingual capabilities preferred. - Ability to work nights, weekends, and maintain flexibility. **Required Education & Certifications:** - High school diploma or GED required. - Washington State Food Handler’s Card must be obtained within 15 days of start. - HACCP certification is a plus but not mandatory.
