Job title: Frontend Engineer Role Summary: Build fast, responsive web applications in a Ruby on Rails environment, primarily using Hotwire (Turbo Streams, Turbo Frames, Stimulus). Focus on server‑side rendering, minimal JavaScript, and creating smooth, near‑instant user interactions while contributing to overall infrastructure design and performance. Expactations: - Deliver clean, maintainable Rails code aligned with best practices. - Integrate Hotwire components to enhance front‑end interactivity. - Optimize backend logic to rapidly generate HTML fragments, reducing client‑side JavaScript. - Translate UI/UX designs into responsive, user‑friendly interfaces. - Collaborate with UX, product, and engineering teams on new features, improvements, and architecture. - Participate in code reviews, writing tests, and maintaining version control. - Manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and communicate progress effectively. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and refactor Rails controllers, models, and views. - Implement Turbo Streams, Turbo Frames, and Stimulus controllers for dynamic UI. - Write and maintain well‑tested, documented code in Git. - Optimize server‑side rendering paths for performance. - Work with designers to realize responsive layouts using HTML, CSS, and vanilla JavaScript. - Engage in architecture discussions and performance evaluations. - Mentor junior developers and provide constructive feedback. Required Skills: - Ruby on Rails expertise (4+ years). - Strong knowledge of Hotwire (Turbo, Stimulus) and modern front‑end technologies. - Proficient in HTML, CSS, and vanilla JavaScript. - Experience with responsive design principles. - Git version control proficiency. - Unit and integration testing skills (RSpec, Minitest). - Excellent written and verbal communication in English. - Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet project deadlines. - Team‑player mindset with enthusiasm for code reviews and knowledge sharing. Required Education & Certifications: - Associate’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent; Bachelor’s preferred. - Demonstrated experience in software development, specifically with Ruby on Rails.
