Job Title: Analyst, Merchant Operations
Role Summary:
Collect, analyze, and present data-driven insights to support merchant operations and drive continuous improvement across the retail organization. Leverage advanced Excel and analytic tools to generate timely reports, identify trends, root causes, and recommend actionable efficiencies.
Expectations:
- Work independently while managing multiple concurrent deliverables in a fast‑paced environment.
- Communicate findings clearly to executive and operational stakeholders, tailoring messaging for each audience.
- Demonstrate strong business acumen in a retail merchandising context.
- Maintain meticulous attention to detail and ensure data accuracy across all reports.
- Salary range: $65,200–$75,000 annually.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and refine standard reporting processes for daily, weekly, monthly, and ad‑hoc analyses.
- Combine data from multiple sources (distribution, planning, merchandising, allocation) to identify relationships and validate accuracy.
- Independently assess current processes, recommend efficiency improvements, and present findings to management for implementation.
- Update and maintain job aids, templates, and dashboards for ongoing use by cross‑functional teams.
- Collaborate closely with Distribution Centers, Planning, Merchandising, and Allocation units to ensure alignment and data integrity.
Required Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros, data modeling).
- Strong analytical and statistical reasoning, with the ability to identify trends, patterns, and root causes.
- Clear, concise written and verbal communication; adept at tailoring presentations for diverse audiences.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized, capable of juggling multiple priorities.
- Retail merchandising or planning experience; familiarity with retail metrics and quality standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross‑functional team.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Analytics, Statistics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- No specific certifications required, though credentials such as Google Data Analytics, Microsoft Excel Expert, or Supply Chain Professional are preferred.
