Job title: Senior AWS Cloud Engineer (100% Remote)
Role Summary:
Architect, develop, and maintain secure, scalable AWS solutions using ECS, Lambda, API Gateway, and S3; deliver IaC with Terraform; build Java backend services and Angular/TypeScript front‑ends; design and run CI/CD pipelines; lead environment migrations and upgrades in a regulated U.S. setting.
Expectations:
- U.S. resident, able to work W2 100% remote.
- Minimum 5 years software engineering experience with cloud‑focused development.
- Must obtain and maintain ANACI clearance (two‑step background check).
- Exposure to Agile/SAFe workflows and strong collaboration skills.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design, develop, and maintain moderately complex to complex AWS‑based systems and applications.
2. Write secure, well‑documented code following disciplined practices; manage source control and versioning.
3. Build and maintain containerized workloads (ECS) and serverless functions (Lambda, API Gateway, S3) with Terraform IaC.
4. Develop and enhance application features in Java and modern front‑end frameworks (Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript).
5. Design and implement CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab) to improve deployment efficiency and quality.
6. Implement automated testing strategies; collaborate with QA to ensure application stability.
7. Lead installations, configuration, upgrades, and migrations across multiple environments, ensuring reliability and security.
8. Participate in peer code reviews and collaborate cross‑functionally to deliver robust cloud services.
Required Skills:
- Deep knowledge of AWS services: ECS, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB, Oracle.
- Proficiency in Terraform for AWS infrastructure‑as‑code.
- Strong Java backend development experience.
- Front‑end expertise with Angular, TypeScript, and JavaScript.
- Practical experience with CI/CD tooling, especially GitLab.
- Automated testing framework implementation and test case development.
- Familiarity with relational (Oracle) and NoSQL (DynamoDB) databases.
- Ability to secure code and comply with regulated industry standards.
- Excellent communication, critical thinking, and adaptability.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- ANACI clearance required (background check).
- AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, Developer, or DevOps Engineer) are advantageous.
