**Job Title:** Interim IT Support Engineer **Role Summary:** Provide Level 2 technical support for a large scientific research estate, servicing over 8,000 PCs. Responsibilities include hands‑on device imaging and onboarding, hardware and software troubleshooting, asset and stock management, and ensuring all equipment meets internal security and compliance standards. **Expectations:** - Proven Level 2 support experience in a complex IT environment. - Hands‑on experience with imaging, rebuilding, and configuring Windows devices. - Strong troubleshooting skills for hardware and software issues. - Proficiency with Windows operating systems, Active Directory, and Office 365. - Clear communication and proactive problem‑solving. - Full eligibility to work in the UK. - Availability to start in December 2025. **Key Responsibilities:** 1. Resolve PC, laptop, and peripheral user issues on-site. 2. Image new computers and onboard them into the corporate domain. 3. Diagnose and repair hardware and software faults. 4. Secure and protect new and existing equipment. 5. Maintain accurate asset and inventory records. 6. Collaborate with scientific teams to support laboratory data flows. 7. Assist users with equipment requests and queries. 8. Ensure all devices comply with internal security and operational standards. **Required Skills:** - Level 2 IT support proficiency. - Device imaging, rebuilding, and configuration. - Hardware fault troubleshooting. - Windows OS, Active Directory, and Office 365 expertise. - Strong written and verbal communication. - Proactive, self‑directed work ethic. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Relevant IT education (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology) or equivalent experience. - Industry certifications preferred: CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate.

**Job Title** Onsite Level 2 Break/Fix IT Support Engineer **Role Summary** Deliver hands‑on Level 2 technical support onsite, resolving hardware, software and peripheral issues for end‑users. Maintain high customer‑service standards, manage assets, and participate in on‑call rotation while adhering to agreed SLAs and support processes. **Expectations** * Provide timely, professional, face‑to‑face support. * Resolve tickets efficiently within SLA limits. * Maintain accurate documentation of all support activities. * Collaborate with Service Delivery Manager and technical teams. * Be willing to undergo enhanced referencing or vetting if required. **Key Responsibilities** * Walk‑up and desktops‑side assistance. * Diagnose and repair hardware and software problems on laptops, desktops, and peripherals. * Perform IMACD tasks: installs, moves, adds, changes, disposals. * Track IT assets and update inventory records. * Participate in on‑call support shifts as scheduled. * Follow established support processes and SLAs. **Required Skills** * Extensive experience in a Level 2 or desk‑side support environment. * Proficiency with Windows operating systems and common desktop hardware. * Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving ability. * Excellent customer‑service and communication skills. * Ability to document incidents and solutions clearly. * Familiarity with asset management tools and procedures. **Required Education & Certifications** * High school diploma or equivalent. * IT certifications preferred: CompTIA A+, ITIL Foundation, Microsoft Desktop Support Specialist or similar. ---
