Job Description
**Job Title:** Senior Category Technologist **Role Summary:** Technical leadership role to manage new product development (NPD) processes for own-label and proprietary brands, ensuring compliance with legal, quality, and CSR standards while optimizing supplier performance. **Expectations:** Drive cross-functional collaboration, maintain end-to-end NPD timelines, implement sustainable supplier quality systems, and ensure product specifications meet global and online sales requirements. **Key Responsibilities:** - Lead technical and CSR aspects of NPD for own-label and proprietary products. - Approve suppliers, manage risk, and ensure traceability through processing, growing, and mining levels. - Conduct supplier site visits, audits, and corrective actions to align with technical and CSR targets. - Develop and maintain product specifications covering legal, safety, quality, and online/international compliance. - Monitor supplier performance metrics in real-time and address deviations proactively. - Coordinate NPD critical paths, gate approvals, and post-launch technical reviews. - Implement and update operational procedures for specifications, testing, and documentation. - Identify and resolve technical issues pre-launch to prevent delays. **Required Skills:** - Advanced knowledge of product safety, CSR compliance, and international regulations. - Strong supplier relationship and risk management expertise. - Cross-functional team leadership and stakeholder influence (technical, CSR, quality). - Analytical skills to assess supplier performance and drive process improvements. - Clear communication for documentation, audit reports, and technical reviews. - Proficiency in NPD processes, product specifications, and audit methodologies. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in food science, supply chain, or related field. - Proven track record in product development and supplier quality management (minimum 5–7 years’ experience). - Knowledge of ISO standards (e.g., ISO 22000), CSR certifications (e.g., Fair Trade), or equivalent credentials preferred.
