Job Description
Job title: Site Reliability Engineer Role Summary: Design, deploy, and maintain the highly available cloud infrastructure that powers Curve Dental’s web and mobile applications. Collaborate with development teams to automate provisioning, scaling, and monitoring of services, ensuring uptime, performance, and security across AWS and Kubernetes environments. Expectations: - Own end‑to‑end reliability of production workloads. - Respond swiftly to incidents, conduct root‑cause analysis, and implement long‑term fixes. - Champion IaC practices, continuously improving automation and observability. - Mentor peers, influence platform direction, and communicate effectively across teams. Key Responsibilities: - Provision and manage AWS resources (EC2, S3, IAM, RDS, EKS) using CloudFormation, Terraform, or equivalent. - Deploy, upgrade, and scale Kubernetes clusters; manage container lifecycles and service meshes. - Implement and maintain infrastructure automation (Ansible, Packer). - Build and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting pipelines for large‑scale web applications. - Enforce security best practices and perform vulnerability assessments. - Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and agile ceremonies. - Document operational procedures, runbooks, and post‑incident lessons. Required Skills: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience. - 3+ years of production SRE or DevOps experience on AWS (EC2, S3, IAM, EKS, RDS). - Hands‑on Kubernetes cluster management and application deployment. - Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting. - Proficiency in infrastructure automation (Ansible, CloudFormation, Packer). - Programming/scripting skills (Python, Bash, Go, or similar). - Experience with monitoring/alerting tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, etc.). - Root‑cause analysis, incident response, and performance tuning expertise. - Agile methodology familiarity, including code reviews and testing. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. - AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or equivalent cloud certification is a plus.
