**Job title:** Principal Systems Engineer **Role Summary:** Lead and shape the design, architecture, and implementation of complex systems projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical strategy within an agile environment. **Expectations:** - Own strategic direction and high‑level scope of large‑scale engineering initiatives. - Exercise autonomy to make decisions that drive project success. - Mentor and influence engineering teams and stakeholders. - Maintain strong communication with business and technical partners to translate requirements into feasible solutions. - Deliver high‑quality, scalable, and maintainable system designs. **Key Responsibilities:** - Define system architecture, performance, and integration requirements. - Set technical standards and best practices for development teams. - Oversee and validate system prototypes, proof‑of‑concepts, and final product delivery. - Conduct risk assessments and provide mitigation strategies. - Coordinate cross‑functional collaboration across product, QA, operations, and business units. - Lead retrospectives and continuous improvement initiatives for engineering processes. **Required Skills:** - Deep expertise in systems engineering principles and methodologies. - Proficient knowledge of design patterns, APIs, and micro‑services or monolithic architectures. - Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities. - Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills. - Familiarity with agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban) and associated tools. - Ability to evaluate trade‑offs and make data‑driven decisions. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related technical field (Master’s degree a plus). - Industry certifications such as TOGAF, PMP, or equivalent are desirable but not mandatory.
