Job Description: Job Title: Senior Backend Software Engineer, FinTech Role Summary: Lead the design, implementation, and operation of high‑impact financial services within a scalable FinTech platform. Own end‑to‑end feature delivery, drive architecture decisions, and ensure system reliability and performance. Expectations: - Own critical features from conception to production, ensuring code quality and maintainability. - Take full responsibility for technical decisions, on‑call duties, and incident resolution. - Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge sharing. - Collaborate closely with product, design, and business teams to translate requirements into robust solutions. Key Responsibilities: - Design and evolve platform architecture for new features and core services with a focus on performance, reliability, and scalability. - Develop, unit‑test, and deploy clean, production‑grade Node.js & TypeScript code. - Troubleshoot complex SQL and transaction issues; maintain comprehensive runbooks and documentation. - Participate in on‑call rotations and incident response to safeguard system health. - Guide and mentor engineering peers, fostering continuous learning and process improvement. - Integrate with third‑party systems (e.g., NetSuite, Salesforce, Modern Treasury, banking APIs) using event‑driven or workflow architectures. Required Skills: - 5+ years of production‑level backend development experience. - Proficient in Node.js, TypeScript, GraphQL, Postgres, and AWS serverless services. - Strong SQL debugging and transaction troubleshooting skills. - Deep knowledge of financial transaction systems, event‑driven architecture, idempotency, retries, and error handling. - Experience designing and maintaining complex FinTech or payment platforms. - Excellent communication, collaboration, and mentoring abilities. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). (Nice to have) - Accounting fundamentals (double‑entry bookkeeping, ledger reconciliation). - Experience with reconciliation workflows and data mismatch detection. - Exposure to AI/ML applications in financial contexts.
