Job Description: Job title: Junior Web Developer (Entry Level) Role Summary: Design, develop, test, and support web portals for federal clients, handling front‑end, back‑end, and database components while ensuring timely delivery and adherence to usability and security standards. Expectations: Deliver high‑quality code that meets federal standards; communicate clearly with team and clients; support project schedules; maintain confidentiality and security clearance; adapt to multiple technologies. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and maintain web portal components using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and Java/J2EE frameworks. - Design and manage database schemas and queries; implement RESTful APIs. - Gather and refine requirements in collaboration with clients, product managers, and review panels. - Participate in Agile ceremonies, code reviews, and unit testing. - Provide technical guidance to peers and troubleshoot issues. - Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and usability standards. - Communicate status, risks, and progress to stakeholders. Required Skills: - Front‑end development experience (HTML5/CSS3/JavaScript and a modern framework such as Angular, React, or Vue). - Java/J2EE development (Spring, Jakarta EE) with unit testing and debugging. - Database design and SQL proficiency (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or equivalent). - RESTful API and web services knowledge. - UI/UX principles and usability guidelines. - Agile methodology experience (Scrum/Kanban) and version control (Git). - Strong written and verbal communication; requirement gathering. - Ability to work independently and collaboratively. - U.S. citizenship; ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust clearance. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field. - Optional: Certifications in Lean Software Development, Scrum, or Kanban (preferred). - Current DHS Public Trust clearance is preferred.
