Job Description

Job Title: DevOps Engineer Role Summary: Long‑term freelance/contract DevOps Engineer responsible for development, evolution, and maintenance of an application portfolio within a squad, overseeing Windows and Unix systems, virtualization, load balancing, and related middleware. Expectations: Deliver stable, scalable infrastructure; collaborate cross‑functionally; demonstrate expertise in Windows/Unix administration, virtualization, certificates, load‑balanced environments, middleware (JBoss, Apache, IIS), and scripting (ksh, bash, PowerShell). Manage large data transfers, optionally apply Java, Docker, Kubernetes skills. Communicate fluently in Dutch or French and English. Hybrid/remote work arrangement. Key Responsibilities: • Provision, configure, and maintain Windows and Unix servers. • Manage virtualization platforms and service certificates. • Operate load‑balanced environments and middleware stacks. • Develop and maintain shell and PowerShell scripts for automation. • Handle large file data transfers. • Support application lifecycle from development to production. • Collaborate with dev, QA, and Ops teams. • Maintain documentation of infrastructure and processes. • Troubleshoot and resolve incidents promptly. Required Skills: • Daily Windows and Unix system administration. • Virtualization technologies. • Certificate management and load‑balanced environment configuration. • Middleware expertise: JBoss, Apache, IIS. • Strong scripting in ksh, bash, PowerShell. • Experience with large data transfer workflows. • Knowledge of Java (preferred). • Docker & Kubernetes experience (preferred). • Fluency in Dutch or French; English proficiency required.
