Job Title: Legal Intern
Role Summary
Provide comprehensive legal support to a technology startup focused on AI, data, and human learning. Execute legal research, draft and review contracts, develop compliance frameworks, and support fundraising and governance initiatives while collaborating with cross‑functional teams.
Expectations
- Conduct in‑depth research on AI regulations, data privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA, etc.), IP, and employment law.
- Draft, edit, and organize contracts, NDAs, terms of service, and vendor agreements.
- Assist in building internal policies, playbooks, and compliance processes for scaling operations.
- Support due diligence for partnerships, fundraising, and corporate governance.
- Monitor and synthesize regulatory developments in AI and emerging technology for leadership briefing.
- Collaborate proactively with product, engineering, and operations to embed legal considerations early.
- Maintain document organization, template creation, and best‑practice standards.
- Demonstrate professionalism, confidentiality, and the ability to work effectively in an ambiguous, fast‑moving environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform legal research on AI, data privacy, IP, and employment law relevant to a global AI product.
- Draft, review, and edit contracts, NDAs, terms of service, vendor agreements.
- Develop internal policies, compliance playbooks, and scalable legal frameworks.
- Assist with due diligence and documentation for partnerships, fundraising, and governance.
- Track regulatory changes in AI and emerging tech; provide concise summaries.
- Coordinate with product, engineering, and operations teams for legal integration.
- Organize legal documents, create templates, and establish best‑practice standards.
