Job title: Senior Director of IT
Role Summary:
Lead strategic vision, governance, and delivery of enterprise IT architecture and operations in a healthcare setting. Drive innovation, security, and compliance across on‑prem and cloud environments to support clinical and operational functions.
Expectations:
Deliver scalable, secure, and compliant IT solutions that enhance patient care and operational efficiency. Maintain high availability, data integrity, and cybersecurity across all systems. Lead a high‑performance IT team and manage vendor relationships and budgets within agreed SLAs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Define and execute IT strategy aligned with organizational objectives.
• Design, implement, and optimize enterprise architecture (networks, cloud, end‑user, EHR, HIE).
• Lead clinical IT initiatives: EHR, HIE, analytics, AI/ML adoption.
• Ensure regulatory compliance (HIPAA, HITECH, Meaningful Use).
• Develop cybersecurity policies, conduct risk assessments, and implement safeguards (identity, endpoint, network).
• Establish performance metrics, SLAs, KPIs, and conduct service reviews.
• Manage business continuity, disaster recovery, capacity and performance planning.
• Oversee large‑scale projects, project management processes, and budgetary control.
• Govern vendor and MSP selection, contracts, and service delivery.
• Mentor and develop IT staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Required Skills:
• Strategic leadership & governance in enterprise IT.
• Deep expertise in network, cloud, data center, and security architecture.
• Experience with healthcare IT systems (EHR, HIE, analytics).
• Strong project management, budgeting, and vendor‑management capabilities.
• Proficiency in compliance, risk management, and regulatory frameworks.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to lead multi‑disciplinary teams and drive culture change.
Required Education & Certifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Healthcare Informatics, or related field (advanced degree preferred).
• Professional certifications such as PMP, ITIL Foundation, CISSP, CISM, or equivalent healthcare IT credentials are highly desirable.
