**Job Title**
Facilities Layout Engineer – Automotive
**Role Summary**
Design, model, and document factory cells and production lines for automotive manufacturing. Produce detailed 2‑D and 3‑D layouts, support installation teams, and coordinate technical responses to site requests across civil, mechanical, electrical, HVAC, pipework, and instrumentation disciplines.
**Expectations**
- Deliver accurate, compliant facility layouts that meet production and safety requirements.
- Respond promptly to site change requests with technical analysis and justified recommendations.
- Coordinate with engineering back‑offices to determine multidisciplinary impacts and ensure seamless integration of all facility components.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Create detailed floorplans and 3‑D models for factory cells, entire production lines, and supporting infrastructure (steelwork, pipework, HVAC ducts, instrumentation, electrical cable trays, boxes, cabinets, and civil structures).
- Conduct 2‑D/3‑D checks and produce site‑adaptation drawings for installation teams.
- Compile technical documentation for construction support (e.g., Equipment Location Books, Layout Dummy Bedplate Drawings, Anchorage Reviews).
- Gather engineering inputs, analyze site constraints, and prepare technical justifications for design changes.
- Liaise with back‑office disciplines to validate impacts of site requests and maintain design integrity.
**Required Skills**
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and 2‑D/3‑D modeling tools.
- Solid engineering knowledge across civil, mechanical (pipework, steelwork), electrical, HVAC, and instrumentation domains.
- Experience in plant layout engineering and construction support within the automotive or heavy‑industry context.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and documentation skills.
- Clear technical communication and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s (or higher) degree in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- Demonstrated experience in nuclear or similarly regulated sectors is preferred (shows familiarity with rigorous safety and design standards).
- Professional engineering registration (e.g., PE, Eng.) is advantageous but not mandatory.
