**Job Title**
Lead Data Architect
**Role Summary**
Lead end‑to‑end data architecture for a digital transformation initiative, shaping data capture, pipeline design, orchestration, automation, and insight delivery to support product scaling.
**Expectations**
- Deliver a comprehensive data strategy that aligns with business goals.
- Demonstrate end‑to‑end ownership of data solutions from ingestion to analytics.
- Drive adoption of best practices in data governance, security, and quality.
- Mentor and guide cross‑functional teams on data architecture decisions.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Design and architect scalable data pipelines and workflows, employing orchestration tools.
- Define data models, schemas, and metadata management for product data.
- Establish data governance frameworks, including lineage, quality, and compliance controls.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and analytics teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
- Evaluate and select appropriate cloud and on‑premises data services, ensuring performance and cost efficiency.
- Oversee implementation of data automation and batch/streaming pipelines.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data platform performance and reliability.
- Communicate progress and technical concepts to senior stakeholders.
**Required Skills**
- Advanced knowledge of data architecture principles and patterns.
- Expertise in ETL/ELT tooling, orchestration (e.g., Airflow, Prefect), and data orchestration best practices.
- Strong command of relational and columnar databases (SQL, BigQuery, Redshift, Snowflake).
- Experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Proficiency in Python, Scala, or Java for data processing.
- Data modeling, metadata management and data cataloging expertise.
- Solid understanding of data governance, security, and compliance.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field.
- Professional certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer, or Google Professional Data Engineer preferred.
- Additional certifications in Snowflake, Databricks, or related data platform technologies are an advantage.
