Job Title: Head of IT and Security
Role Summary: Executive responsible for defining and executing the global IT and Security strategy, ensuring reliable, scalable, and high‑performance technology infrastructure while protecting proprietary forensic data and maintaining compliance.
Expectations: Lead a distributed IT and security organization, manage a multi‑year budget, drive continuous improvement, enforce rigorous security controls, and support specialized operational technology for R&D labs. Deliver high availability and cybersecurity resilience across cloud and on‑premise environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Define, communicate, and implement the global IT and Security strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Manage, mentor, and grow IT managers and support teams in London and Dunedin, fostering collaboration and service excellence.
- Oversee budget planning, cost control, and strategic investment in tools, infrastructure, and security technologies.
- Own the organization’s security posture: develop, deploy, and maintain security controls, policies, incident response, and disaster recovery plans.
- Protect intellectual property and scientific data integrity across cloud and on‑premise environments, ensuring compliance with data handling standards.
- Drive continuous risk assessments and remediation for supply chain data, endpoints, and corporate network.
- Champion security awareness and training initiatives to embed a security‑first culture.
- Ensure reliability, scalability, and performance of the global Microsoft 365 ecosystem (Entra ID, Intune, Defender, SharePoint, etc.) and specialized OT/R&D infrastructure.
- Direct first‑ and second‑line IT support, automating processes and adopting ITSM best practices to improve service delivery.
Required Skills
- Leadership and strategic vision for global IT and security operations.
- Deep expertise in Microsoft 365 security and administration.
- Proven development and execution of holistic cybersecurity strategies in cloud‑native environments.
- Strong understanding of OT/R&D lab infrastructure and specialized support requirements.
- Incident response, disaster recovery, and risk management proficiency.
- Budgeting, vendor management, and cost optimization capabilities.
- Excellent stakeholder communication, mentoring, and team‑building skills.
Required Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field.
- Relevant certifications: CISSP, CISM, Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator, Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate, ITIL Foundation (preferred).
