Job Description
**Job Title** Data Scientist Intern **Role Summary** A short‑term, project‑based role supporting senior data scientists in developing data‑driven solutions. The intern will design and build predictive models, create scalable data pipelines, explore datasets, and translate analytical insights into actionable recommendations. **Expectations** - Deliver functional machine‑learning prototypes and maintain data workflows within defined timelines. - Actively collaborate with cross‑functional teams and provide clear visualizations and technical summaries. - Demonstrate continuous learning and adaptability to emerging data science methods. **Key Responsibilities** - Build and evaluate machine‑learning models for forecasting, classification, optimization, and anomaly detection. - Construct and maintain scalable data structures, including feature engineering, data cleaning, and pipeline orchestration. - Perform exploratory data analysis and statistical evaluation to identify patterns and improvement opportunities. - Prototype algorithms in Python (pandas, NumPy, scikit‑learn, PyTorch/TensorFlow). - Tune hyperparameters, assess model performance, and document results. - Create dashboards, visualizations, and technical summaries for stakeholders. - Contribute to process optimization and continuous improvement across operations, finance, and engineering. **Required Skills** - Proficiency in Python and data science libraries (pandas, NumPy, scikit‑learn; PyTorch/TensorFlow preferred). - Knowledge of machine‑learning concepts, neural networks, and algorithm design. - Strong analytical mindset with structured problem‑solving. - Excellent communication (verbal/written) and presentation skills. - Detail‑oriented, organized, and able to meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment. - Self‑motivated with a desire to learn and impact real‑world projects. - Experience or coursework in statistical modeling, predictive analytics, or time‑series forecasting is a plus. **Required Education & Certifications** - Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Econometrics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field. - Prior internship experience in Data Science, Software Engineering, or Data Engineering is a plus. - Portfolio of personal or academic projects demonstrating hands‑on Python, machine‑learning, or applied analytics.
