Job Description

Job Title: Android Developer Role Summary: Design, develop, and maintain a GPS‑focused Android application, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver features on a quarterly release cycle. Support backend service development and deployment on Google Cloud to enhance application functionality. Expectations: Deliver high‑quality, performant code within defined timelines; communicate progress and challenges with stakeholders; adhere to company policies; provide a portfolio or tangible samples of prior Android work for evaluation. Key Responsibilities: - Develop, debug, and enhance the Android app using Kotlin (Java as backup). - Collaborate with product owners, managers, and teammates to define and prioritize quarterly deliverables. - Design and implement backend services, deploying them on Google Cloud. - Ensure application quality, performance, and responsiveness across devices. - Integrate web services and APIs, applying networking and protocol knowledge. - Maintain and troubleshoot any technical issues beyond the app scope. - Document development processes and code for team reference. Required Skills: - Minimum 2 years of professional Android development experience (Kotlin/Java). - Proficient in Android Studio, Android SDK, and associated build tools. - Knowledge of at least one backend language (PHP or JavaScript preferred). - Familiarity with Docker or other container orchestration tools. - Comfort with Linux environments. - Basic understanding of networking, HTTP/REST, and APIs. - Intermediate web development skills (HTML, CSS, JavaScript). - Basic SQL database experience. - Understanding of RTK GPS concepts is a plus. - Strong communication, teamwork, and self‑motivation. - US citizenship or lawful permanent residency (Green Card) required. - Submission of a portfolio or GitHub samples mandatory. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. - No specific certifications required.
