**Job Title:** Lead AI Engineer
**Role Summary:**
Lead the design, development, and production deployment of next‑generation Generative AI and agentic systems. Drive end‑to‑end innovation from model selection and orchestration to scalable backend implementation, while establishing quality, scalability, and security standards across all AI initiatives.
**Expectations:**
- 7–12 years of software development experience, including ≥3 years in AI/ML systems engineering or Generative AI.
- Proven ability to own complex projects, execute rapidly, and mentor technical staff.
- Strong commitment to engineering best practices (clean code, TDD, CI/CD, security, performance, cost optimization).
- Active user of AI‑assisted development tools with structured workflow experience.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Architect, build, and optimize production‑grade Generative AI and agentic applications using frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, Semantic Kernel, etc.
- Implement Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) with vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, ChromaDB, Weaviate) and search engines (ElasticSearch, Solr).
- Design and enforce prompt/context engineering frameworks to improve accuracy, latency, and cost.
- Develop multi‑modal workflows (text, image, voice, video) and supporting microservices using Python, JavaScript, or Java with DDD, SOLID, and clean architecture principles.
- Deploy cloud‑native solutions on AWS, GCP, or Azure utilizing Docker, Kubernetes, or serverless architectures; manage event‑driven pipelines (Kafka, SQS, etc.).
- Apply industry‑standard practices: TDD, linting, secrets management, SAST/DAST, structured logging, metrics, tracing, and automated CI/CD (GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
- Leverage AI‑assisted coding tools (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor) to accelerate development while maintaining code quality.
- Partner with product, design, and ML teams to translate AI concepts into user‑facing products.
- Provide technical mentorship, conduct architecture reviews, and lead POCs, research experiments, and innovation sprints.
**Required Skills:**
- Expertise with LLMs (GPT, Claude, Gemini, self‑hosted) and prompt engineering.
- Proficiency in Python and/or JavaScript/Java; experience with relational, document, key‑value, and graph databases.
- Hands‑on experience with vector stores and similarity search techniques.
- Cloud architecture and deployment on AWS, GCP, or Azure; containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Strong knowledge of microservice patterns, event‑driven design, and domain‑driven design.
- Familiarity with AI‑assisted development tools and structured workflow creation.
- Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field (Master’s preferred).
- Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, GCP Professional Cloud Architect, Azure Solutions Architect) are a plus.
