Job Description
Job Title: Senior Software Engineer – Backend & Data (Python) Role Summary: Design, develop, and scale cloud‑native backend services and event‑driven data pipelines using Python, TypeScript, and Google Cloud Platform. Deliver robust APIs, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation with Terraform, while embedding AI tooling to enhance product features. Expectations: - Own end‑to‑end backend solutions with full ownership from architecture to production. - Collaborate with product and cross‑functional teams to translate user needs into technical specifications. - Drive technical decision‑making with minimal supervision. - Continuously evaluate and integrate new AI and data engineering practices. Key Responsibilities: - Build and maintain Python microservices and TypeScript APIs. - Design and implement event‑driven systems using GCP Pub/Sub and Cloud Run. - Develop and optimize scalable data pipelines for data enrichment and analytics. - Write and maintain IaC with Terraform; configure CI/CD workflows in GitHub Actions. - Ensure observability, monitoring, and logging of services across cloud platforms. - Participate in code reviews, testing, and performance tuning. - Advocate adoption of AI tools to improve productivity and product capabilities. Required Skills: - Strong proficiency in Python (≥3.8); experience with TypeScript acceptable. - Deep understanding of GCP services: Pub/Sub, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, Cloud Storage, BigQuery, Cloud SQL, Spanner, Firestore. - Experience building and managing event‑based architectures and data pipelines (ETL/ELT). - Expertise in IaC using Terraform and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Cloud Build). - Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases; ability to model data for performance. - Knowledge of observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Stackdriver). - Strong product mindset and ability to translate business requirements into scalable solutions. - Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem‑solving skills. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent professional experience). - GCP Professional Cloud Architect or similar certification is a plus.
