Job Description
**Job title:** Loads Engineering Intern **Role Summary:** Conduct numerical load analysis for wind turbines, develop and optimize a control‑tuning toolchain, validate existing simulation tools, and produce documentation to support design of turbine components and foundations. **Expectations:** - Final‑year master’s student in Mathematics, Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related discipline. - Fluency in English. - Legal right to work in France. - Willingness to commit to a 6‑month internship in Nantes. **Key Responsibilities:** - Develop and enhance modules of the control‑tuning toolchain for load assessment. - Execute representative case studies to test tool performance. - Draft adoption plans and workflows for integrating the toolchain. - Create a user guide detailing usage procedures. - Report progress, findings, and recommendations in team meetings. - Maintain consistent version control and document code changes. **Required Skills:** - Proficiency in Python programming (used for simulation, data processing, and tool development). - Experience with wind turbine simulation tools such as OpenFAST or NREL suites preferred. - Familiarity with Linux operating environment. - Basic knowledge of solid and fluid mechanics, especially as applied to wind turbines. - Effective written and verbal communication for documentation and meetings. - Version control experience (e.g., Git). **Required Education & Certifications:** - Master’s degree in progress (Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace, Renewable Energy Engineering, or equivalent). - No specific certifications required.
