Job Description
Job Title: Civil Engineer – Contracts, Site Operations & Business Development Manager Role Summary: Lead and manage day‑to‑day operations of renewable groundworks sites, ensuring projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and meet safety, quality and compliance standards while driving business growth. Expectations: Deliver multiple concurrent site projects, maintain compliance and client satisfaction, optimise operational efficiency, support tendering and commercial expansion, and report directly to the Director. Key Responsibilities: * Oversee project execution for multiple active sites, ensuring completion on time and within budget. * Lead daily site setup and setting‑out of civil groundworks, ensuring accurate alignment per plans. * Supervise on‑site workshop; manage equipment servicing, maintenance and defect resolution. * Schedule, supervise and optimise performance of site teams, ensuring efficient workforce planning. * Ensure health and safety compliance; prepare and update RAMS with the HSEQ Officer. * Support procurement, material management and logistical coordination. * Liaise with clients, suppliers, contractors and internal directors to maintain seamless communication. * Identify and implement operational improvements to reduce waste and increase efficiency. * Assist in tender preparation, pricing strategy, contract management and client relationship development. Required Skills: * Civil engineering, construction, groundworks or utilities background. * Proven experience in site, project or operations management. * Strong organisational and planning abilities; adept at juggling multiple tasks. * Solid knowledge of health, safety and compliance standards (HSEQ). * Effective communication, delegation, accountability and leadership skills. * Proficiency with Microsoft Office and job‑tracking systems. * Full UK driving licence. Required Education & Certifications: * Degree or HND in Civil Engineering (or equivalent experience). * Understanding of UK Health, Safety, Environment legislation. * Experience in budget management and cost control (preferred). * Familiarity with tendering and contract management (preferred).
