Job Description
**Job title** Junior Software & Data Engineer **Role Summary** Entry‑level engineer responsible for developing internal tools, enhancing uptime monitoring, and building data pipelines to support reliable operation of an electric‑vehicle charging network. Works across software development, data engineering, and system reliability in a fast‑moving, agile environment, delivering small to medium‑sized projects autonomously. **Expectations** - Demonstrate strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. - Learn and apply modern data and software engineering practices. - Develop ownership of end‑to‑end engineering tasks, from design through deployment. - Collaborate with data and product teams to derive operational insights. **Key Responsibilities** - Design, code, and maintain internal applications and tools that improve reliability, data visibility, and operational workflows. - Build and extend monitoring and alerting systems to detect faults, trigger automated diagnostics, and report uptime metrics. - Create, maintain, and optimise data pipelines for ingesting, cleaning, and analysing operational data (performance, usage, behaviour). - Support data discovery and reporting for stakeholder insights. - Participate in CI/CD pipeline configuration, version control, and release management. - Investigate and prototype machine‑learning or AI concepts that could enhance operations. **Required Skills** - Proficient in Python, JavaScript, and SQL. - Solid understanding of data engineering fundamentals (ETL, batch & streaming pipelines). - Familiarity with version control (Git) and CI/CD principles. - Analytical mindset with a data‑driven approach to problem solving. - Curiosity in ML/AI and willingness to explore new techniques. - Ability to work independently and manage multiple small projects. *Nice to have*: Exposure to Azure cloud services, knowledge of OCPP/OCPI protocols, or experience with monitoring frameworks. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or related technical field. ---
