**Job title:**
Senior Contracts Engineer – E‑Mobility
**Role Summary:**
Lead the commercial and contractual delivery of electric‑vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure projects. Collaborate with engineering, client, and subcontractor teams to ensure on‑time, on‑budget execution while maintaining technical and regulatory compliance.
**Expactations:**
- Full ownership of project management, finance, and risk control for EV charging schemes from tender to hand‑over.
- Deliver consistently high commercial governance and client satisfaction.
- Maintain robust contractual and negotiation practices, minimizing disputes and variances.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Lead tendering, design review, procurement, resource planning, scheduling, and execution of LV/HV (11/33 kV) electrical activities, civil works, charger installations, grid connections, and commissioning.
- Manage cross‑functional project teams (engineers, site managers, supervisors, subcontractors).
- Control budgets, forecasts, cash‑flow, and commercial risks; authorize variations and manage contractual claims.
- Review and approve design documentation, RAMS, and commissioning plans to meet BS 7671, CDM 2015, grid, and industry standards.
- Interface with DNOs/IDNOs, design partners, OEM suppliers, and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct site audits, ensure compliance with safety, quality, and CDM mandates, and maintain accurate project records.
- Serve as primary client and stakeholder contact; lead progress meetings and report performance.
- Foster relationships to support future business development and repeat work.
**Required Skills:**
- Proven project/contract management experience in electrical contracting, utilities, or HV/LV infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of CDM 2015, BS 7671, and related safety/regulatory standards.
- Expertise in delivering LV/HV distribution networks, substations, civil infrastructure, EV charging, renewable, or grid‑connected projects.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, civil plans, and technical specifications.
- Commercial acumen: budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow, variation, and risk management.
- Leadership, communication, and organisational skills; able to motivate multidisciplinary teams.
- Proficient with business software, digital systems, IT tools, and basic troubleshooting.
- Valid UK driving licence.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- HNC/HND, degree, or equivalent in engineering, electrical technology, or related field.
- SMSTS, IOSH, or LV/HV authorisation (preferred).
- Valid ECS/CSCS Card (preferred).
- Experience with DNO/ICP frameworks and contestable works is a plus.
- Knowledge of EV charger OEM technologies and infrastructure design is desirable.
