Job title: Summer Analyst Internship Role Summary: Interner supports the Strategy and Quantitative Analytics team by operating, improving, and testing Burford Capital’s proprietary investment‑modeling platform. The role blends data analysis, financial model evaluation, and cross‑functional collaboration to underpin strategic investment decisions. Expectations: - Acquire foundational knowledge of litigation finance and advanced financial modeling. - Deliver accurate, data‑driven insights within tight deadlines. - Communicate findings clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders. - Demonstrate self‑direction, high energy, and a willingness to learn quickly. Key Responsibilities: - Operate and maintain the proprietary investment‑modeling platform. - Analyze existing and prospective investment models and term sheets to assess pricing structures and underlying assumptions. - Identify opportunities for platform enhancement and communicate suggestions to the broader team. - Draft detailed functional requirements for new modeling features and validate implementation through rigorous testing. - Collaborate with quantitative associates and other departments to ensure data integrity and model accuracy. - Participate in training modules on litigation finance, financial modeling, and analytical techniques.
