Job title: Information Technology Director/Chief Information Officer
Role Summary: Serve as the chief technology strategist and operational leader, shaping the organization’s digital transformation, guiding emerging technology adoption, and ensuring resilient, secure, and future‑ready IT systems.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the city’s strategic IT vision and digital transformation roadmap.
- Oversee multiple complex system implementations and technology migrations.
- Manage and mentor a team of technical professionals, ensuring effective staffing and performance.
- Evaluate, adopt, and govern emerging technologies that enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.
- Lead cybersecurity, data protection, and disaster recovery planning and execution.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to align IT initiatives with budgetary constraints and business priorities.
- Represent the organization in external partnerships, vendor negotiations, and regulatory compliance matters.
- Communicate IT strategy, performance metrics, and risks to stakeholders and the public.
Required Skills:
- Strategic leadership and vision setting.
- Project and portfolio management (Agile/Scrum, PMP, or equivalent).
- IT governance, risk management, and security frameworks (CISSP, CISA, ISO/IEC 27001).
- Emerging technology assessment and adoption (cloud, AI, IoT, etc.).
- Strong budgeting and financial acumen.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and change‑management skills.
- Ability to drive results in a complex, regulated environment.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of information systems experience, including at least 3 years of technical staff management.
- Master’s degree and professional certifications (ITIL, PMP, CISSP, CISA, CompTIA Security+, or related) highly desirable.
- Local government or public‑sector IT experience preferred.
