Job Description
Job title: Business Systems Analyst – Data & Analytics Role Summary: Facilitate the development of data products by translating business stakeholder requirements into technical specifications. Act as a liaison between business users and data architects/engineers to design, build, and maintain data models, pipelines, dashboards, and reports, ensuring alignment with data governance and security standards across APAC and North America. Expections: - 3+ years of business analysis experience focused on data/analytics. - Strong cross‑functional collaboration and facilitation skills. - Proficiency in SQL, Tableau/Power BI, and report/dashboard development. - Familiarity with Agile/Scrum, project tracking tools (ServiceNow, JIRA, Smartsheet), and data visualization (MS Visio, MIRO). - Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and data governance frameworks. - Excellent communication, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities. Key Responsibilities: 1. Gather and document data product requirements from stakeholders in APAC and North America. 2. Translate business needs into functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria. 3. Facilitate workshops and discovery sessions to map processes and data sources. 4. Collaborate with technical teams to design and build data models, pipelines, and analytics solutions that meet governance standards. 5. Develop and implement dashboards, reports, and self‑serve capabilities using best practices. 6. Validate data logic and participate in peer, system, and user acceptance testing. 7. Create and maintain documentation for data definitions, process flows, and system interactions. 8. Serve as a data custodian, ensuring business terms are reflected in the enterprise data dictionary. 9. Manage Agile backlog, support back‑log grooming, and handle support escalations. 10. Assist with data migrations and enterprise projects in a Business Analyst capacity. 11. Promote knowledge sharing and best practices across the data and analytics function. Required Skills: - Business analysis and requirement elicitation - Documentation of functional/specifications and user stories - SQL querying and data validation - Experience with Tableau, Power BI, or similar analytics platforms - Familiarity with ServiceNow, JIRA, SmartSheet - Proficiency in MS Visio, MIRO, or other visualization tools - Exposure to Azure, AWS, or GCP environments - Understanding of data governance, data quality frameworks, and security regulations (North America & APAC) - Agile/Scrum methodology experience - Strong verbal and written communication; stakeholder management - Analytical, problem‑solving, and independent teamwork skills Required Education & Certifications: - Post‑graduate degree or diploma in Business Administration, Information Systems, or related field. - Business Analysis or Agile certifications (e.g., CBAP, PMI‑BA, Scrum Master) desirable.
