Job Title: Senior Accountant
Job Description: **Job Title**: Senior Accountant **Role Summary**: Senior Accountant responsible for full-cycle accounting processes including financial closing, accounts payable/payroll, reconciliation, and compliance to ensure accurate financial reporting. **Expectations**: Must ensure accuracy in financial operations, meet deadlines, and drive process efficiency while adhering to US GAAP and internal controls. **Key Responsibilities**: - Execute full-cycle month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close procedures, ensuring accuracy and compliance. - Manage accounts payable workflows, including invoice coding, approval, and payment processing. - Process bi-monthly payroll and retirement submissions, ensuring timely execution. - Maintain expense reporting systems, verifying receipts and accurate coding. - Prepare complex journal entries for R&D, G&A, fixed assets, and other accounts. - Reconcile balance sheet accounts, investigate discrepancies, and resolve issues. - Perform P&L and balance sheet flux analyses, documenting variance explanations. - Support audits by sourcing, organizing, and preparing required schedules and documentation. - Manage fixed asset accounting, including capital expenditure tracking and disposal compliance. - Collaborate with R&D teams to ensure adherence to time reporting standards. - Optimize accounting software and financial tools to streamline workflows. - Identify automation opportunities to improve efficiency in accounting tasks. - Oversee 1099 compliance and reporting requirements. - Participate in system implementations and process improvements. **Required Skills**: - Expertise in full-cycle accounting, AP, payroll, and GL management. - Proficiency in GAAP compliance, financial analysis, and variance reporting. - Advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, XLOOKUP) and accounting software (QuickBooks, Bill.com). - Strong analytical, time management, and problem-solving abilities. - Experience with financial statement preparation and audit support. **Required Education & Certifications**: - Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance. - Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred. - Proven 3+ years in accounting/finance roles. - Experience in public companies and biotech/pharma sectors preferred.
