Job title: New Product Development Technologist Role Summary: Drive the development and launch of new bakery products for a leading national brand and customer brands, ensuring quality, feasibility, and market readiness. Expectations: Deliver timely, cost‑effective product launches; collaborate across functional teams; maintain technical documentation; adhere to food safety and quality standards. Key Responsibilities: - Lead formulation and scale‑up of new bakery recipes. - Conduct feasibility studies, bench‑scale trials, and pilot‑scale production tests. - Prepare and review technical specifications, process sheets, and quality control plans. - Coordinate cross‑functional teams (e.g., R&D, production, quality, supply chain). - Analyze product performance data and implement process improvements. - Manage timelines and budgets for innovation projects. - Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and company GMP policies. - Identify and evaluate suppliers for ingredients, packaging, and equipment. - Participate in product launch strategy and post‑launch performance review. Required Skills: - Strong background in food science or food technology. - Experience with recipe scaling, process optimization, and pilot production. - Proficiency in lab and industrial equipment operation. - Analytical and problem‑solving abilities. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Project management and ability to work collaboratively. - Knowledge of food safety standards (HACCP, GMP) and regulatory requirements. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemical Engineering, or related field. - Relevant certifications (e.g., HACCP, GMP) preferred.
