**Job Title:** Application/Cloud Architect
**Role Summary**
Architect, design, and oversee cloud‑based and enterprise application solutions for a European institution, enabling its digital transformation initiatives. Liaise with stakeholders, project teams, and developers to develop scalable, secure, and efficient architectures that align with EU policies and operational strategies.
**Expectations**
- Base location: Luxembourg or France, hybrid work (2‑3 office days per week), compatible with Brussels work requirements.
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience in IT architecture, cloud platforms, and semantic web technologies.
- C2‑level proficiency in English.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver high‑quality architecture documentation and lead multi‑disciplinary workshops.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Provide strategic guidance on system architecture, processes, and interoperability with partners such as SKPT, EURES, and Europass.
- Define and drive IT operations efficiency strategies for the project.
- Prepare, maintain, and review architecture design documents and technical blueprints.
- Coordinate workshops, meetings, and technical reviews with stakeholders, business analysts, users, and development teams.
- Evaluate system discrepancies, vulnerabilities, and integration challenges.
- Analyze data models and support data‑driven architecture decisions.
- Lead technical architecture implementation, including cloud migration and component design.
- Act as the technical interface between project leaders and developers throughout development and deployment cycles.
- Contribute to testing, documentation, deployment, evaluation, and progress reporting.
- Create and maintain cloud architecture designs and blueprints for new and migrated systems.
**Required Skills**
- Proficiency in semantic web stack: RDF/OWL, Apache Jena, SPARQL, GraphDB, Apache Fuseki.
- Expertise in cloud platforms: AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform.
- Kubernetes experience, including CKAD knowledge.
- Familiarity with TOGAF, COBIT, ArchiMate, microservices architecture, MLOps, and security assessment.
- Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across cultural and disciplinary boundaries.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Cloud architecture certifications:
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- Google Professional Cloud Architect
- Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)
- ITIL Foundation certification
- Additional certifications in TOGAF, COBIT, ArchiMate, or MLOps are highly desirable.
