Job Description

Job Title: Backend Developer Role Summary: Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs for a production SaaS platform using Python and Django. Lead architectural decisions, address performance and reliability challenges, and contribute to code quality across the codebase. Collaborate with product teams and non‑technical stakeholders to deliver technically sound, high‑quality solutions. Expectations: - Own end‑to‑end responsibility for backend service design and maintenance. - Prioritize and manage technical debt while meeting product deadlines. - Communicate clearly through documentation, technical specs, and async channels. - Demonstrate autonomy in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities: - Architect and implement backend APIs with Python/Django. - Optimize existing codebase for performance, reliability, and scalability. - Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation to uphold quality standards. - Collaborate with Product, Operations, and other non‑technical teams. - Contribute to long‑term technical strategy and architecture decisions. - Manage project timelines, prioritize tasks, and deliver on commitments. Required Skills: - Proficient in Python and Django framework. - Experience with PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, and Redis. - Strong understanding of SaaS architecture, performance tuning, and scalability. - Ability to write clean, maintainable, testable code. - Familiarity with code review practices and automated testing. - Excellent written communication and documentation skills. - Collaborative mindset and ability to work independently. - Experience managing technical debt and prioritizing improvements. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). - Relevant certifications in Python, Django, or related technologies are a plus.
