**Job Title**
Director of Information Systems (CIO)
**Role Summary**
Lead the global IT strategy and operations for a large international news agency. Own end‑to‑end technology lifecycle, ensuring 24/7 service continuity, security, compliance, and efficient resource use while driving digital transformation and AI adoption across editorial, commercial, and support functions.
**Expectations**
- Deliver a cohesive technology roadmap aligned with editorial and business priorities.
- Maintain uninterrupted IT services worldwide, meeting high‑availability requirements.
- Protect data and sources, ensuring compliance with cybersecurity, GDPR, and industry standards.
- Optimize costs and workforce, achieving measurable operational efficiency.
- Foster strong, trust‑based relationships with executive leadership, editorial teams, sales, and external partners.
**Key Responsibilities**
1. Define and implement the IT vision, strategy, and governance framework.
2. Oversee a 170‑person IT organization (development, integration, infrastructure, cyber‑security, and transformation).
3. Manage global technical resources of approximately 60 personnel in international offices.
4. Drive cloud, data, AI, and infrastructure modernization, including make‑or‑buy and sourcing decisions.
5. Ensure IT service continuity, incident response, and disaster recovery across all locations.
6. Lead cybersecurity strategy, vulnerability management, and regulatory compliance.
7. Align IT budgets, capital investments, and operating expenditures with business goals.
8. Communicate complex technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders and secure buy‑in.
9. Partner with editorial, commercial, and finance leaders to embed technology in editorial workflows, distribution, and revenue models.
10. Guide AI solution deployment with shared governance, focusing on value creation, content experience, and journalistic support.

**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Technology, or related field.
- Professional IT leadership certifications (e.g., PMP, ITIL, CISSP, CISM, or equivalent) preferred.
- Experience in media or publishing IT environments highly valued.
