Job Description
Job Title: Business Representative (Entertainment Contracts) Role Summary: Interpret and enforce SAG‑AFTRA contracts, manage performance claims, and provide contract guidance to members and producers. Expactations: - Deliver high‑quality customer service with tact and diplomacy. - Maintain accurate, timely claim filings and updates. - Communicate clearly in English, both orally and in writing. - Work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities independently. - Foster respectful, collaborative relationships across diverse stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: - Interpret and enforce collective bargaining agreements. - File claims for principal and background performers; prepare claim synopses and assist in arbitration. - Communicate claim progress to claimants and set realistic expectations. - Explain contract provisions to members, studios, and third parties. - Conduct audit of productions for contract compliance. - Represent the union at committees, workshops, and industry events. - Perform additional duties as assigned. Required Skills: - Contract interpretation and legal analysis. - Case/claim management and documentation. - Excellent written and verbal communication in English. - Advanced PC proficiency, Google G Suite, and typing ≥35 WPM. - Familiarity with Oracle systems (advantage). - Strong math and detail orientation. - Organised, multitasking, and independent work ability. - Interpersonal and customer‑service excellence. - Ability to work extended hours, overtime, weekends, holidays, and travel per union needs. Required Education & Certifications: - Undergraduate degree or equivalent 5 years of education and experience in labor relations or entertainment. - Juris Doctor preferred but not required.
