Job Description
**Job Title:** Manufacturing Operations Engineer **Role Summary:** Drive end‑to‑end manufacturing and supply‑chain operations for hardware systems in an autonomous building platform. Manage production support, quality inspections, procurement, logistics, and process documentation to enable scalable, high‑quality PCBA and mechanical assembly with contract manufacturers. **Expectations:** - Deliver reliable, on‑time hardware production for autonomous systems. - Collaborate with senior engineering and cross‑functional teams on continuous improvement and new product introduction (NPI). - Maintain rigorous quality and compliance standards across international suppliers and logistics partners. **Key Responsibilities:** - Review and analyze quotes from contract manufacturers and suppliers; identify cost drivers and technical mismatches. - Conduct first‑article inspections (FAI) for mechanical and PCB components, perform QC checks, document results, and support tooling approval for golden samples. - Source and procure hard‑to‑find components; manage lead times, allocation, and shipment coordination to contract manufacturers. - Develop and maintain assembly instructions, work instructions, and process documentation. - Support inventory management, demand forecasting, and ERP/MRP system tracking. - Build and optimize QC processes, inspection protocols, and yield improvement initiatives. - Manage logistics, freight forwarding, import/export compliance, tariffs/duties, and shipping documentation. - Drive continuous improvement in manufacturing operations and support cross‑functional NPI efforts. **Required Skills:** - 3–7 years’ experience in hardware/electronics manufacturing and operations (PCBA and mechanical assembly). - Proficient in manufacturing processes (SMT, injection molding, tooling, FAI). - Strong analytical and critical‑thinking abilities; problem‑solving independently. - Experience with quote analysis, component procurement, inventory systems, and international logistics. - Proficiency in Excel, ERP/MRP tools, and basic data analysis. - Excellent communication and organizational skills; capable of working in fast‑paced environments. - Willingness to travel occasionally to suppliers and contract manufacturers. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field. ---
