Job Description
**Job Title:** Director/VP, Perception & Physical AI Software **Role Summary:** Lead end‑to‑end productization, deployment, and scaling of perception and physical AI technologies. Transform research prototypes into robust, production‑grade software platforms and SDKs, while architecting long‑term scalability, quality, and operational excellence. Build, mentor, and grow a high‑performance software engineering organization across perception, autonomy, infrastructure, and platform teams. **Expectations:** - Deliver production-ready perception & AI software to customers at scale. - Scale and maintain a world‑class engineering organization. - Maintain reliability, observability, and fast field updates for real‑world robotic deployments. - Align software strategy with product, systems, hardware, and customer needs. - Represent software vision and execution at executive and board levels. **Key Responsibilities:** - Own software productization strategy for perception and physical AI solutions. - Design and guide modular, API‑driven architecture for long‑term scalability. - Lead the transition of research algorithms to maintainable, deployable products. - Establish and enforce coding, testing, release, OTA update, and validation best practices. - Build, mentor, and grow engineering teams across perception, autonomy, infrastructure, and platform domains. - Collaborate with product, systems, hardware, applications, and customer teams. - Ensure operational excellence: reliability, observability, debugging, and field support. - Communicate software vision and progress to senior leadership and the board. **Required Skills:** - Proven experience building and shipping large‑scale robotics, autonomy, or AI software systems. - Deep technical expertise in perception, sensor fusion, robotics software, or autonomy stacks. - Hands‑on software architecture and real‑time system design. - Experience deploying robotic software with OTA update mechanisms. - Strong command of software quality, reliability, and operational best practices. - Leadership of engineering teams, scaling people and processes. - Ability to remain technically engaged while operating at a strategic level. - Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Robotics, or related field. - 12+ years of experience in building and shipping large‑scale robotics, autonomy, or AI software. - Proven track record of leading and scaling production software teams.
